Wizards of the Coast (WOTC) required tracking of their product through European distribution warehouses in England, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. WOTC products are marked with a unique Datamatrix serial ID on each selling unit and their associated display carton, case and pallet. See Game Card Serialization under Network & PLC Integration. Corner Office Consulting developed an HHP IT3870 wireless scanner based application on a stand-alone PC using a local ACCESS database.

Each PC supports 3 wireless scanners to a single base station. Each scanner can operate 100 ft from the PC.

The application supports product receiving from US production facilities and shipments from the distribution warehouses to retailers. The PC screen is "split" to show the transaction activity on each of the 3 attached scanners.

Product receiving may be matched to an Excel spreadsheet e-mailed from WOTC's Dallas, TX warehouse.
